In June 2026, a significant dialogue on forest rights and displacement was held in Ratapani, where the Ratapani Sangharsh Samiti and Rachnatmak Congress jointly convened village heads, patels, sarpanchs, and sub-divisional and district-level members of Forest Rights Committees from eight villages in the Obedullaganj region, focusing on the continued lack of effective implementation of the Forest Rights Act, 2006, and on the rights of Gram Sabhas to protect, conserve, and manage forest resources within sanctuary areas; villagers voiced deep anguish over displacement and uncertainty about their future. Rachnatmak Congress’s Madhya Pradesh Prant Sarthi Samadhan Patil said that prolonged dominance by a single party weakens accountability and that periodic political change is necessary for democracy and regional development, adding that rural society is becoming increasingly aware and is organising for its constitutional and legal rights. Representatives and villagers present also discussed forest rights, displacement, and local development in detail and agreed on a shared strategy going forward, under the call that rights over water, forest, and land belong to the people, and that democratic participation is the foundation of just development.
Separately, Rachnatmak Congress’s block-level worker Deepak Raje led a village meeting in Beda Jhiri Bagwani, Jawara Malkhar, under the banner of the “MGNREGA Bachao – Gaon Bachao” (Save MGNREGA – Save the Village) campaign, where villagers said that the effective suspension of MGNREGA has deepened the employment crisis in the villages, forcing families whose migration had largely stopped to leave again in search of work, while small-scale development works have also come to a halt, leaving people deeply angry with both the state and central governments. Samadhan Patil said MGNREGA is not merely a scheme but the backbone of village livelihoods and development, and that weakening it would affect both the rural economy and the social fabric, announcing that Rachnatmak Congress would run the “MGNREGA Bachao – Gaon Bachao” campaign across the state to build a wider people’s movement. Villagers resolved to participate actively in the campaign and, ahead of the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, to raise the public’s voice through Gram Sabhas and panchayats to show the government the real situation on the ground.
On July 4–5, 2026, a Bundelkhand-level meeting of social people’s organisations was held in Singrampur, Damoh district, where representatives of various people’s organisations and movements held serious discussion on the message shared by Rachnatmak Congress’s National President Sandeep Dikshit; the meeting arrived at a shared understanding that a respectful, equality-based dialogue between people’s movements and democratic political forces is the need of the hour to protect the Constitution, democracy, social justice, water-forest-land rights, environmental justice, and people’s rights. Participants clarified that people’s movements function with their own independent identity and autonomy while favouring cooperation and coordination on shared issues, and expressed the expectation that Rachnatmak Congress play an active role in providing legal aid, research, technical support, policy advocacy, media support, leadership training, and carrying the people’s voice to Parliament and the Assembly, along with a clearer ideological position on economic questions such as corporate-centric development, privatisation, exploitation of natural resources, and workers’ rights. The meeting affirmed that building a democratic India requires not merely a change of power but real commitment to the Constitution, social justice, environmental balance, and people’s rights, and a roadmap was also prepared for a scenario of political change in Madhya Pradesh.
