Rachnatmak Congress is a democratic platform committed to constitutional values, social justice and constructive public participation across India.

About Rachnatmak Congress

The Rachnatmak Congress has been established as an independent platform to foster dialogue, interaction, and collaboration between the Indian National Congress and political and social activists, people’s movements working for development and citizens’ rights, artistes, performers, poets, writers, academicians, public intellectuals, and members of civil society.

Rachnatmak Congress is a platform dedicated to strengthening India’s constitutional democracy through constructive politics, civic participation, and sustained engagement with society. Inspired by the ideals of the Indian Freedom Movement and Mahatma Gandhi’s Constructive Programme, it seeks to revive a spirit of nation-building that unites social action with democratic responsibility.

Democracy does not flourish only during elections. It grows when citizens, communities, institutions, and public representatives work together continuously to address social challenges, uphold constitutional values, and rebuild trust between people and democratic institutions.

At a time when public life is marked by polarisation, inequality, and declining institutional trust, Rachnatmak Congress offers an alternative, rooted in dialogue, participation, and constructive action. It brings together citizens, social organisations, academics, professionals, artists, workers, youth, women, journalists, community leaders, trade unions, resident welfare associations, issue-based movements, and democratic institutions committed to justice, equality, liberty, fraternity, secularism, and inclusive development  .

The work of Rachnatmak Congress rests on four interconnected pillars:

Sampark – continuous engagement with communities

Samvad – public dialogue and civic education

Sangharsh – peaceful democratic action against injustice

Sameeksha – continuous review, accountability, and learning

Through grassroots Sahbhagita Kendras, thematic Prerna Kendras, and a nationwide network of Preraks and volunteers, the organisation creates local centres of trust, participation, and  problem-solving. These decentralised structures encourage citizens not only to discuss public issues but to develop solutions that strengthen democratic life and improve everyday conditions.

Rachnatmak Congress envisions a society where democracy becomes a living practice, rooted in constitutional morality, social justice, scientific temper, dignity of labour, gender equality, environmental responsibility, and fraternity. It works to reconnect democratic politics with the lived experiences of people through continuous feedback between society and public institutions, contributing to a more inclusive, participatory, equitable, and democratic India.

Mission & Vision

Rachnatmak Congress is committed to revitalising democratic life by bringing together citizens, civil society organisations, professionals, artists, academics, domain experts, workers, youth, community groups, and democratic institutions on a common platform for constructive engagement and social transformation.

Through continuous community participation, public dialogue, peaceful democratic action, and evidence-based policy engagement, the platform works to strengthen constitutional values, promote social justice, encourage scientific temper, and foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, and cooperation.

Guided by the framework of Sampark, Samvad, Sangharsh, and Sameeksha, and supported by Sahbhagita Kendras, Prerna Kendras, and a nationwide network of Preraks and volunteers, the organisation aims to build long-term partnerships with communities, nurture democratic leadership, generate informed public participation, and provide constructive feedback that improves governance and strengthens public institutions.

To build an India where democracy is lived every day through active citizen participation , constructive public action, constitutional governance, and inclusive social participation.

We envision a nation rooted in justice, liberty, equality, fraternity, secularism, scientific temper, and human dignity where every citizen has a meaningful role in shaping public life. By strengthening the relationship between society and democratic institutions, Rachnatmak Congress seeks to contribute to a more compassionate, equitable, sustainable, and democratic Republic, true to the ideals of the Constitution and the legacy of the Freedom Movement.

Core Values

Constitutionalism

We uphold the Constitution of India as the supreme guide for public life, governance, and democratic action. Every initiative is grounded in constitutional morality and the principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.

Democracy

We believe democracy is strengthened through continuous participation, informed dialogue, transparency, and accountability  not merely through periodic elections.

Constructive Politics

We are committed to solving social challenges through sustained engagement, community participation, institution-building, and collaborative action alongside peaceful democratic advocacy.

Social Justice

We stand for an India where every individual, regardless of caste, religion, gender, language, ethnicity, region, disability, or economic background, enjoys equal dignity, equal opportunity, and equal protection under the law.

Fraternity and Social Harmony

We promote mutual respect, dialogue, and cooperation among all communities, recognising that national unity is built through trust, inclusion, and shared responsibility.

Secularism and Pluralism

We celebrate India’s diversity and are committed to protecting the equal rights, freedoms, cultures, and beliefs of every citizen while resisting discrimination and divisive politics.

Scientific Temper

We encourage reason, evidence, innovation, and critical thinking as essential foundations for public policy, education, governance, and national progress.

Service and Participation

We believe meaningful change begins with active citizens. We encourage every individual to contribute time, knowledge, skills, and leadership towards the betterment of society.

Decentralisation

We support empowering communities through local leadership, participatory institutions, and democratic decision-making, ensuring that solutions emerge from those most directly affected.

Integrity and Accountability

We are committed to honesty, transparency, ethical conduct, and continuous self-evaluation. Public trust is earned through responsible leadership and measurable social impact.

Gender Equality and Human Dignity

We affirm the equal rights, leadership, safety, and dignity of women and all individuals, striving to eliminate discrimination and promote inclusive participation across every sphere of public life.

Environmental Responsibility

We recognise that sustainable development and environmental stewardship are essential to the well-being of present and future generations. Ecological balance is integral to our vision of nation-building.

Collaboration

We believe lasting democratic change requires cooperation across civil society, democratic institutions, community organisations, professionals, and citizens. We value dialogue over division and partnership over partisanship.

Continuous Learning

Through Sameeksha, we embrace reflection, evaluation, and improvement. We learn from communities, measure impact honestly, and continuously adapt to changing social realities.
